How to Get Links From Other Websites

Below is an email from a person whose name I haven’t heard of. He must have got my email from a whois query.

Hi I`m ________ from ___.com. Operated by the same people who created Holiday Watchdog, ____.com offers users all the information they need to understand and start fixing their debt issues .

Our management team has asked me to contact other site owners because we are looking for relevant partners and ____.com (my domain) seems ideal. We can either exchange links with you – or – we can offer you some free of charge unique content in return for a link back to us.

We have access to a very large group of UK-based editorial staff who could research and write a high quality, unique piece specifically for ____.com (my domain). You will of course have full editorial control and it definitely won`t be a sales pitch for us!

All we would ask is that you allow us to include one simple text link back to ____.com (their domain) towards the end of the content which will hopefully be found by the search engines in the longer term – which is how we would benefit.

My comment: The domain they are interested to have an exchange link is empty. I haven’t built a website on it. It appears they are sending this email in bulk without really looking at the quality of sites.
