The question of the day is: will Google acquire more online advertising networks now that it has successfully closed the sale contract with Double Click Company, another multi-billion online advertising giant?
Are you scared of the prospect that Google will rule the Internet and subsequently send Microsoft and Yahoo to history books? Who can stop Google from buying highly profitable companies?
My favorite Feedburner was already sold to Google. Oh, my other favorite blogging platform, Blogger, had long been acquired by Google many years back. Google is brilliant in making buying decisions. Google bought Postini, too. Did you know that?
My concern is that if Google was able to buy a giant company such as Double Click, then it could as well, given its arsenal of cash on hand, acquire smaller advertising networks.
Maybe, just maybe, the next global headlines would read:
Google Buys Smorty.
Google Buys Azoogle Ads.
Google Buys Click Bank.
Google Buys Yahoo Publishers Network.
Google Buys Linkshare.
Give me a break.
